Prof. George Christophides, The Cyprus Institute

Prof. George Christophides received his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Athens and continued his research career as a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, Germany. He moved to Imperial College London in 2005, where he is currently Professor and Chair of Infectious Disease and Immunity. He is also Adjunct Professor and Associate Dean at The Cyprus Institute, Cyprus. He is interested in the biology of infectious diseases, especially vector-borne, and how this may be affected by human interventions and the changing environment. Through his research, he wishes to contribute to public health innovations and in improving human life. He is directing the VigiLab at Imperial College London.
